Six Days, One Walkable Base

Thursday is check-in, a beach afternoon at the Inlet end, and Uber Eats on the balcony — a night in before two festival days. Friday and Saturday are the festival, walked to and from the condo so nobody is fighting 55,000 people for a rideshare at 11 PM. Sunday is brunch at the condo, the IV, a nap, and Seacrets. Monday is the anniversary: an afternoon sail, then a 6:00 dinner at The Hobbit with the sunset over the bay. Tuesday is the drive home.

Protect these seven sets

If plans change, these are the ones that do not move. They are where this lineup meets the Koe Wetzel / Cody Jinks / Sturgill / Eric Church / Treaty Oak lane.

Somerset St is the hotel-shuttle drop for the festival. Dorchester St (Sail Alyosha + Oyster & Scales) is one block north; the Talbot St gate is two, the Caroline St VIP gate three; the Inlet, Harbor Watch and Thrasher's are four blocks south.

The fixed points

  • ThuCheck in at 4 → beach afternoon at the Inlet end → Uber Eats on the balcony. Night in
  • FriEast Coast IV at 11:30 at the condo → lunch → gate around 1:30 → Noeline Hofmann, Kaitlin Butts, Wyatt Flores, Dierks Bentley, Lainey Wilson
  • SatSlow downtown morning → Jackson Dean, Charley Crockett, Brothers Osborne, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton
  • SunBrunch at the condo → East Coast IV at 1:30 → nap → Seacrets: distillery tour ($15), NFL, dance night

Calls to make this week

Why walking wins: there is no parking south of N. Division St during the festival, the Beach Bus stops running an hour after the last set, and rideshare surges hard at 11 PM. From Somerset you'll be on the balcony with a drink before the crowd clears Baltimore Ave.

Thursday, October 1

Leave late morning, cross the Bay Bridge before the Friday rush, check in at four, drop the bags and walk straight onto the beach at the Inlet end. Stay as long as you like, then order in — nothing on the clock tonight.

  1. 10:30 AMVint HillRoll out

    I-66 E → I-495 → US-50 E over the Bay Bridge → Salisbury → OC. Budget 4 hours with a stop. Toll is eastbound only ($4 non-MD E-ZPass, $6 pay-by-plate); the ride home is free.

  2. 2:15 PMWest OC · Rt 50Hi Tide Dispensary, 12524 Ocean Gateway

On the right side of Route 50 just before the bridge — the closest licensed shop to downtown (none have opened inside town limits yet). Open daily to 7 PM; 21+ with any state ID. Rules are in Dispensaries.

  3. 2:45 PMWest OC harborLate lunch on the harbor

The Shark on the Harbor or Sunset Grille (commercial harbor, right before the Route 50 bridge). Or Pizza Tugos West OC — 80 taps, big NY pies — two minutes from Hi Tide.

  4. 4:00 PMSomerset StCheck in — 205 Somerset Street

Oceans Edge Vacations. Bags down, find the parking spot, and save the house manual (trash/keypad notes) for later — the beach is waiting.

  5. 4:15 PMInlet endBeach afternoon

That's the afternoon — no second outing. Walk down to the sand at the Inlet end, a few blocks from the door, and sit with the first drink of the trip. Lifeguards are off duty from Oct 1, so it's quiet. Stay until you're done.

  6. 6:42 PMBalconySunset from the balcony

The condo's bay-view balcony faces west, so the sunset is yours without going anywhere.

  7. 7:00 PMBalconyUber Eats night in

Order to 205 Somerset St and eat on the balcony. Fat Daddy's (216 S. Baltimore Ave, two blocks) is the quick pizza-and-cheesesteak call; Pizza Tugos and the West OC crab houses deliver too if the app reaches. Early night — Friday is a ten-hour day.

Optional — not in the plan: Seacrets Fall Tasting & Sunset Cruise. 6:00–7:30 PM on the bay from Seacrets, 117 49th St, $59.95 pp, 21+. Guided tasting of Pumpkin Spiced Rum, Wildfire Whiskey and Spiced Rum. Oct 1 is the only date it runs. If you still want it, leave the condo by about 5:15 (board 30 minutes early) and stay for dinner in the sand at Seacrets after. Book · 410-520-1422. Monday's 2 PM Alyosha sail is the boat in the plan — every option is compared in Cruises.

Friday, October 2

IV at the condo at 11:30, lunch, then walk in around 1:30 with the VIP wristbands activated — Noeline Hofmann at 2 is the first set. Kaitlin Butts, Wyatt Flores and Dierks Bentley are the locks; Lainey Wilson closes at 11. Start hydrating before the first drink — water every one or two.

  1. 8:30 AM2 blocksReal breakfast at The Kitchen

Diner two blocks away (4.3, $). Eggs, potatoes, meat, toast — not one breakfast sandwich and six beers. No bar there, so it's coffee and OJ.

  2. 10:30 AMWristbands + Festiverse app

Register both wristbands for cashless (it's 100% cashless inside), download Festiverse for the live map, and pick a meeting spot — the Guest Services tent — in case cell service dies.

  3. 11:30 AMAt the condoEast Coast IV — mobile drips for two

Same crew as last year. Hangover Miracle ($165, fluids + B-complex + anti-nausea) or Myers ($170) — RN comes to Somerset St, ~40 minutes, no travel fee for two. 443-252-8005 or booking.mangomint.com/eastcoastiv.

  4. 12:30 PM2 blocksReal lunch before the gate

The IV wraps up around 12:10. Eat properly now — Fat Daddy's (216 S. Baltimore, 2 blocks) or a Piezano's slice on the Boardwalk. Inside it's festival prices and lines.

  5. 1:30 PMTalbot → Caroline StWalk in — Fisher's Popcorn on the way

Fisher's at 200 S. Boardwalk & Talbot for a tub of caramel corn, then the VIP/Platinum gate at Caroline St & Boardwalk. Clear bag ≤12×6×12 or a 6×9 fanny pack. Blanket yes, chairs never.

  6. 1:40 PMInsideGet situated

Fastest routes between Boot, Scoot and Boogie. VIP restrooms, bars and lounge. Buy merch now, not after the headliners. First drink, water at the same time. Wade Forster is finishing on Boot until 2 if you want to hear the tail end Optional

  7. 2:00 PMScootNoeline Hofmann 30–45 min

Western, songwriter-driven country. Exactly the early set where you discover someone.

  8. 2:45 PMVIPVIP reset

Bathroom, water, light food if hungry. Do not get trapped in a big meal — Kaitlin is at 3.

  9. 3:00 PMBootKaitlin Butts Must see

Be in Boot VIP a little before 3 and grab the platform seats while they're first-come. Personality, songwriting, outlaw influence and enough weirdness to make it interesting. Redferrin is on Boogie at the same time — Kaitlin, easily.

  10. 4:00 PMScootMitchell Tenpenny Sample ~30 min

More polished than your core lane, but a fun festival set. Leave by 4:35.

  11. 4:35 PMWyatt setup

Bathroom, fresh drink, water, move to Boot VIP. Don't be standing in a food line at 4:57.

  12. 5:00 PMBootWyatt Flores Do not miss

May be the Friday set that hits hardest — grit, songwriting, Red Dirt/Americana. Travis Tritt is on Boogie 5:00–6:00. Do not sacrifice Wyatt for it; catch a piece of Tritt only if the stages let you hear it.

  13. 6:00 PMScootRussell Dickerson First 30–40 min

High-energy festival set, poppier than your playlist. Fun, not sacred.

  14. 6:40 PMThe InletDinner + reset

Best Friday dinner window. Protein and carbs: The Wedge or Harrison's Harbor Watch are inside the fence at normal prices. Full water, bathroom, sunscreen. Last re-entry is 7 PM if anyone needs a layer from the condo.

  15. 7:00 PMBootRascal Flatts See

Pure nostalgia and sing-along. Don't overthink whether they fit the playlist. VIP lounge has the private bar with the shorter line.

  16. 8:15 PMScootDierks Bentley Must see

One of Friday's locks, first full-dark set on the beach. Built for festivals, with enough bluegrass and older material to stay in your lane.

  17. 9:30 PMBootLainey Wilson — Friday headliner See the closer

Runs to 11 PM. Stay for the whole thing — you have a five-minute walk, so there's no reason to edge toward an exit at 10:30.

  18. 11:05 PMWalk home down the Boardwalk

South past Caroline → Somerset; the 2nd St Thrasher's stand is right there if it's still frying. Everyone else is queuing for the Beach Bus on Baltimore Ave. Then water, a nightcap only if you really want one, shower, sleep — Saturday is the stronger day.

  2. 3:00–4:00Redferrin
  3. 5:00–6:00Travis Tritt

Saturday, October 3

Sleep in, keep the car parked, and do the slow downtown morning. Then the money run: Jackson Dean → Charley Crockett → Brothers Osborne → Miranda Lambert → Chris Stapleton. Be more disciplined before 5 PM than you were Friday.

  1. 9:30 AM2 blocksSlow morning + big brunch

Coffee on the balcony, then The Kitchen (4.3, $) or Cork Bar if you want a bar with your eggs. A Bloody Mary is fine; Day Drinking Olympics is not.

  2. 11:30 AM1 blockMuseum of Ocean City · 217 S. Baltimore Ave

$10 two-museum pass also covers the Life-Saving Station at the Inlet (inside the festival fence — walk over with your wristbands later). Forty-five minutes of shipwrecks and old Boardwalk.

  3. 12:15 PMBoardwalkLegends lap: Dolle's → Thrasher's → Dumser's

Dolle's at Wicomico for taffy, the 2nd St Thrasher's stand for a bucket with vinegar, Dumser's at S. Division for a cone. The Inlet end is wristband-only once gates open, but these are all on your side of it.

  4. 1:00 PMWicomico StLight lunch at Bearded Clam or Crawl Street

One block over, the back deck on the bay. Nothing comes through the gate with you. Piezano's on the Boardwalk if pizza wins. Early sets (Sons of Habit, Jimmy Charles, The Jack Wharff Band, Tyler Nance) are optional if you'd rather be inside Optional

  5. 2:00 PMCondoShower, layers, reset

Sunset is 6:38 and the beach gets breezy after dark. Walk back over by 2:45.

  6. 2:45 PMCaroline StEnter VIP gate

Saving energy for 3 PM onward is deliberate.

  7. 3:00 PMBootCarter Faith See until 3:40

Then move to Scoot. Skip Rodney Atkins on Boogie unless nostalgia is calling particularly hard.

  8. 4:00 PMScootJackson Dean Must see

Dark, gritty, big voice, big guitars. This is where Saturday officially begins. Full hour, then move.

  9. 5:00 PMBootCharley Crockett — the Jay Wilson set of the weekend Non-negotiable

Do not split this. Do not decide at 5:25 to check Clay Walker (Boogie, 5:00–6:00). Do not go get dinner. Texas / outlaw / blues / Americana, start to finish.

  10. 6:00 PMVIPDinner / VIP reset — skip Dustin Lynch Dustin Lynch

Sit down and eat the biggest festival meal of the weekend. Bathroom, water, drink, recharge. Last re-entry is 7 PM. From 7 until 11 you're not leaving the stages.

  11. 7:00 PMBootBrothers Osborne Must see

Big guitars, real musicianship, Maryland connection. Full set.

  12. 8:15 PMScootMiranda Lambert See

Go directly over — strong band, deep catalog, VIP close-up viewing. In the last 10–15 minutes, gauge Boot: if it's filling hard, give up the tail of Miranda rather than a lousy Stapleton spot.

  13. 9:20 PMBootSecure the Stapleton spot

In position before 9:30. No dinner, no bathroom, no wandering.

  14. 9:30 PMBootChris Stapleton — festival finale Non-negotiable

Runs to 11. Drink in hand, wife next to you. The set of the weekend.

  15. 11:05 PMWicomico StBearded Clam nightcap

Five-minute walk, one block past the condo. The downtown dive, open till 2, bayside back deck. Dumser's at S. Division is on the way if a cone sounds better than a shot.

  1. 1:15–2:00Jimmy Charles
  2. 3:00–4:00Carter Faith
  3. 5:00–6:00Charley Crockett

  1. 1:15–2:00The Jack Wharff Band
  2. 3:00–4:00Rodney Atkins
  3. 5:00–6:00Clay Walker

Conflicts — already decided

Use VIP like a pit stop, not a home base. Faster drinks, water, better bathrooms, a seat, and position for the sets that matter — then get back out. Don't walk home mid-afternoon unless weather, a real break, soaked clothes, or Saturday exhaustion forces it; the couch wins that fight. Take a good photo together before you're six drinks deep, and if an unknown artist sounds great while you're walking past, stop.

Sunday, October 4

Brunch at the condo, IV, nap, Seacrets. Rehydrate after two festival nights without leaving the building, sleep off the weekend, then head up to 49th Street for the distillery tour, the late game, and dance night.

  1. 11:00 AMAt the condoBrunch at 205 Somerset

No going out. Coffee on the balcony, then cook brunch in the condo kitchen from the groceries — eggs, bacon, whatever sounds right, and a Bloody Mary if it does. The Boardwalk is quiet the morning after a festival.

  2. 12:30 PMEarly games kick off

On the condo TV, still in brunch mode. Nothing else is on the clock until 3:30.

  3. 1:30 PMAt the condoEast Coast IV — round two

Same drips, same RN visit at Somerset St, during the early games. This is the one that makes Seacrets night possible after Stapleton.

  4. 2:15 PMNap

    Post-drip, pre-Seacrets. You'll have earned it.

  5. 3:30 PMBeach BusUp to Seacrets, 117 49th St

Northbound Beach Bus from Talbot St, $4 all-day pass, exact cash or the app — or a $12-ish rideshare. Leave the car; you're drinking.

  6. 4:00 PM111 49th StSeacrets Distillery tour

$15 pp with three tastings, tours on the hour Fri–Sun 11–5 (this is the second-to-last one), 20 people max. Reserve online at seacretsdistilling.com; arrive 10 minutes early with ID.

  7. 4:45 PMLate game + dinner in the sand

Bay tables, jerk chicken, frozen stuff. Happy hour runs 4–7 on Sundays. Sunset over the bay is 6:37. Call 410-524-4900 to confirm the football setup and whether there's a Sunday cover in October.

  8. 8:30 PMDance night

Sunday hours run to midnight. Rideshare home when you're done.

  9. LateOptionalTony's on the Boardwalk

The late-night slice window at the N. Division end, a three-minute walk from the condo. See Pizza.

Monday, October 5

The crowds left Sunday. Ocean City on a Monday in October is empty beach, free parking, and a table with a view. Nothing before dinner is mandatory — pick what sounds good that morning.

  1. MorningSlow start · beach walk

Lifeguards are off duty and dogs are back on the beach from Oct 1, so it's locals and shell-hunters. The beach is free, 5 AM to midnight.

  2. 10:30 AMOptionalAssateague Island (25 min south)

Wild horses on the dunes, $25 per vehicle for the national seashore — the anniversary-photo option. Be back downtown by 1:30 for the sail. Alternative: a long, lazy lunch at Spain Wine Bar downtown (4.8).

  3. 2:00 PMDorchester StAfternoon sail on Alyosha

Olde Towne Marina, 307 Dorchester St — one block north. 50-ft sailing catamaran, 12 guests max, about 75–90 minutes. BYOB including wine and beer in cans or plastic; bottled water provided. Around $89 pp — check the 2 PM price and that it runs Oct 5 when you book. Needs 4 guests to run. Book · 410-376-5454

  4. 3:45 PMCondoBalcony + get ready

Back at the condo by about 3:30. Shower, dinner clothes, a drink on the balcony. Parking is free Mon–Thu in October if you drive anywhere.

  5. 5:30 PMTo 81st StDrive up to The Hobbit

About 5 miles up Coastal Hwy, 15–20 minutes. If you both want wine at dinner, take a rideshare (roughly $15 each way) and leave the car at the condo.

  6. 6:00 PMReservedAnniversary dinner — The Hobbit

121 81st St, on the bay — a long-running OC special-occasion spot with the water right outside the windows. Confirm at 410-524-8100, ask for a window facing the bay, and tell them it’s your anniversary.

  7. 6:36 PMAt the tableSunset over the bay

The Hobbit faces west across the bay, so a 6:00 table puts the sunset right in the middle of dinner.

  8. 8:00 PMBack downtown · Boardwalk under the lights

Smoke-free and near-empty on a Monday in October. Last night on the balcony.

Small anniversary moves that cost nothing: ask Oceans Edge to have flowers on the counter Thursday (they'll usually do it if asked), and tell The Hobbit the occasion when you confirm — they'll note the table.

Tuesday, October 6

Checkout is 10 AM sharp. Breakfast on the way out, no toll westbound, home by mid-afternoon.

  1. 8:00 AMPack + strip beds per the house manual

Trash out, keys where the manual says, one last balcony coffee.

  2. 10:00 AMCheckout — 205 Somerset St

Message Oceans Edge that you're out.

  3. 10:15 AM16th StBreakfast at Layton's

1601 Philadelphia Ave — chipped beef, pancakes, scrapple, the OC breakfast institution, and it's on the way north to Route 50. Backup: The Kitchen, two blocks from the condo.

  4. 11:00 AMDrive home

    US-50 W over the Bay Bridge (free westbound) → 495 → I-66. Home around 3 PM.

The rules that matter

  • 21+ with any government ID — a Virginia license is fine.
  • Limit: 1.5 oz flower, 12 g concentrate, or 750 mg THC in edibles.
  • No smoking or vaping anywhere public — beach, Boardwalk, streets, bars. Check the house rules before using it at the condo; edibles are the quiet option.
  • Not into the festival, not on Assateague (federal), not in the car in use, and not back across the line to Virginia.
  • Sealed dispensary bag in the trunk while driving.

Caitlyn’s Packing

Seven outfits covering two festival days, two dinner and dancing nights, a dive bar and the time in between. Days are around 70°, nights drop to the high 50s on the beach, and it’s windy on the water. The festival runs rain or shine: ponchos are allowed, umbrellas aren’t. Chairs, glass and aerosols aren’t allowed in.

Fri festival — Lainey night

Fri Oct 2 · walk in 1:30, walk home 11 PM · ~70° day, high 50s after dark

Sat festival — Stapleton night

Sat Oct 3 · in at 2:45, out at 11 · the good-photo day

This outfit also covers the Bearded Clam nightcap after Stapleton, since there’s no stop at the condo in between.

Dinner + dancing #1 — Seacrets

Sun Oct 4 · 3:30 PM to midnight · dinner in the sand, then dance night

Dinner #2 — anniversary night

Mon Oct 5 · afternoon sail 2:00 → The Hobbit 6:00

The sail is at 2 and you’re back at the condo by about 3:30, so she can change before you leave for dinner at 5:30. The Hobbit faces the sunset, so that outfit is in the photos.
